i gave this guy a ride, parked near a fire hydrent to let him off, he dented my door, costs 125 to fix. he told me he would pay it in full if i gave him the reciept and i have witnesses. he then comes back n says he will only pay me half. do i have a case or not?

up to you, you can take him to court if you dislike the man. i guess it depends who he is to you. was the dent caused by him opening the door? did he do it on purpose or accident? how far were you parked to the fire hydrant? (laws are diff about parking within a certain distance from a hydrant). but as long their was a verbal agreement where he said he WILL pay for the damages done to your vehicle when it happened or in person, then he is liable.
you got witnesses, he admit to dent your door, he then changes his mind.... easy case imo.

i think you take him to civil court

hopefully you didnt give anyone a ride on the streets. So if this someone you know make him pay, otherwise you cant do anything about it unless you catch him. I hate it when I take people around too. I let them smoke and they burn my interior so that privelege is gone now.

you where illegaly parked at a firehidrent so im not sure. at least you got half with court fees and stuff your not looking at much more cash in your pocket if you do

Civil issue...take the whole thing as a lesson and dont park near fire hydrants anymore
