alpine, i have a cda-9831, changable leds, mp3/wma cd, 4v preouts, and you can hook up an ipod later on, so you can control it from the deck. and xm and sirius ready too. except sirius sucks badly.
For quality at a premium price: Alpine and kenwood make good mp3CD HUs.
In you're on a budget but still care about good sound: JVC. You should be able to find their mp3CDs for about $150. I have had one for four years now and I love it (980SX). Even in its old age, It almost never skips and sounds great. My only caveat: it has only 2 sets of RCAs-no dedicated sub output (like higher-end alpines)
