Installing front componenet speakers

Hello,

I am going to install front component speakers and hook them up to my amp. I need to know what wiring accessories I need to connect head unit/speakers to the amp. I was looking at the stinger 4 guage amp kit and it has:

FEATURES:

18' Of 4 ga. HPM Blue Power Wire
3' Of 4 ga. HPM Clear Ground Wire
1 x Platinum-Plated ANL Fuse Holder With 150 Amp ANL Fuse
17' Of 18 ga. Amplifier Remote Turn-On Wire
1 x Platinum-Plated Super Surface Contact Grounding Terminal
10 x 7" Wire Ties
Protective, Snap-In Wire Grommet

This amp kit doesn't have everything I need right? I am guessing I need wire for the speakers? If so what gauge? It doesn't look like the kit includes it. Is there anything else I would need to wire the amp to my speakers and headunit? What about RCA cables (is there a guage for these, how many feet are recommended for a 2001 civic sedan)? Do I need any accessories to fit my speakers in the factory slot? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

-16 gauge wire for the speakers.

-I ran 12 ft RCA's to the trunk on the back seat.

- You will need spacers to fit your speakers in the door.

Try searching, there are some detailed threads on this.

Currently I am only installing my front components and hooking them to an amp. In a month or two, I'd like to add in a subwoofer/amp combo. Do you think I should do all the wiring for these components all at once? Then when I buy the amp/subwoofer, I just have to connect them. If so what kind of kit do I need? Do I need two separate amp kits?

Ya-think/plan ahead, so you will only have to pull out your panels and pull up your carpet once.

You most likely will NOT need another kit.
With a 4g wire, you should be ok with two amps, as long as they are not huge. Assuming you place both amps in your trunk, you will only need to buy a distribution block, some more 4-8g wire for power to your amps and your grounds.

What do you mean by a huge amp? Currently I'm going to hook up my front component speakers which are rated 90 watts rms (4 ohms). I already have an amp sitting around and I'd like to use it. It is a rockford fosgate 401s (2channel amp, 1200 watts peak?). It says it outputs 100 watts x 2 (4 ohms). Will this be ok in my civic? Or is that too much power? I worried my battery / alternator will die...I think its the 1200 watts that is scaring me.

100x2, but 1200W peak? That sounds a little off to me. At most, it should be 300W bridged, if it's 100x2 @4ohms.

Seriously, 4g wire is pretty thick, and practically speaking fine for almost any use.
