i need a lawyer to represent me for my possession charge.. but im really low on funds..

anyone know of a free lawyer service i could contact?

possession. that sucks, what was it? I just went to the court like 4 hours ago to get my possession charge expunged. It takes like 3 months, and judge decides on it though.

But, why dont you look in your phone book, and find a lawyer that says, we dont get paid until you win. Thats a different situation though, but it may work. Dont they appoint you a lawyer if you dont have one? They should have somebody sitting around.

i got possession of marijuana. boo to that

well, i did look in the phone book and got a free consultation today, but the lawyer costs 2500 for my case. which i definately cant afford. i'll take down some more numbers where it mentions the whole not get paid til you win.

and i have no clue about the court appointing a lawyer if i dont have one. this is my first time goin to court, so i really dont have a clue on what to do.

the only free lawyer service out there is court appointed lawyers. Have you gone to court yet? Well if you havent, ask for a court appointed lawyer. They will make you fill out a sheet of financial info. Some are good, some are bad, it is a free lawyer so dont expect much. I had one that got me off and one that almost got me off, but I also had one who could care less about me and got me a bad fine and ****. Good luck

thanks for the info. no, i havn't gone to court yet. my arraignment (sp?) is on feb 1st. i know that i'll be pleading not guilty and with a plea of 7411.

um... i dont think any lawyers would do pro bono work on a possession charge...and good luck getting out of it...they took your bud eh? how did it go down?

7411 is when you have no prior drug charges or convictions, and the charge gets put on hold while you go on probation. and if you pass probation, the charge gets dropped like nothing happened. n im pleadin not guilty since thats what the lawyer i talked to today said i should do...
