Help...

This is probably going to come off as sounding like a stupid question, but here it goes...

I got a floor jack for christmas this year, and I have no idea where I'm supposed to put it. All the instructions said were to check the owner's manual for the car, but my car didn't come with a manual. I have a 1991 Civic hatchback, and if someone could let me know where I'm supposed to put the jack, I would greatly appreciate it.

Yeah, that's the place I used when I was using those flimsy little jacks that came with the car, but I didn't think I was supposed to use this one there. The instructions said something about centering it in front of the car, I just don't know where.

don't use it yet you're liable to kill yourself. next time you take your car in for an oil change have the mechanic show you where your jack should be placed.

it is not that hard, but rather have a pro show you, you really can get hurt, or killed if you put it in the wrong place, and get under the car.

Be safe not dead.

Alright.... using a good jack is important when lifting the car. Using Jack stands is even better. When I raise my car, it is fairly easy to lacate the front lift point. The should be an arrow pointing to a piece of steel. This would be your lift point. For the rear, it is safe to use the tow hook as a lifting point.

Thanks a lot. I have jack stands, so that helps. I think I'll just go to the place that sold me the car to find out where to put it tomorrow. I'm seriously overdue for an oil change, so I need to know fairly soon. Thanks again for your help.

right on they'll show you exactly where to jack, and where not to jack. I would try to tell you but it is better to get a real visual.
