Well they're race cars. They need suspension travel and ground clearance. Not to mention they need enough room that the tires can still clear the body, even with damage. You gotta get the gap close for aerodynamics, but you're never going to see a completely slammed race car, there's zero functionality in that.

Depends on the Race Car! On our Crawford Daytona Prototype the suspension only moves around an 1" so it can be really low to the ground. CF Splitters get ate up all the time from rubbing the ground.

Boilermakers got it right. GT cars, specifically ones based on productioin cars need suspension travel. once you get in to Formula cars, such as the Daytona Prototype's shown above, you can design a suspension to work well with much less suspension travel.

He's using Koni Yellows and Eibach Sportlines unless something has reciently changed.
No one who races is going to have a super slammed car. Even when I had 500 lb springs in the front of my car, I could still compress the front suspension to the point where I had a 205/50/15 inside the fender (I could get almost my whole hand in the gap with the car sitting static.) The suspension needs to move A LOT.

Yes, I autocross... I'm acutally the Las Vegas Regions Solo 2 chair, so I'm in charge of it locally.

I've never actually measured my ride height, but Boilermaker has it right.. I'm on Eibach Sportlines with Koni Shocks... allong with a smaller front anti-roll bar (15.9mm) and a slightly larger rear antiroll-bar (25.4mm Hollow 2 point adjustible)
