Rep Power: 0 but compare the 2.2L ecotec which has 145hp and 155ft lb of torque, compared to my 1.7L motor that puts out 115hp and 110ft lbs of torque. on paper the numbers look good. plus i test drove one and it doesnt bounce like my vic does on the highway

lol if ur even considering getting one of those atleast get the supercharged version which is still weak as hell only running 205. If ur gonna buy an american car for 21 g's (talking about the Supercharged version) get an SRT-4 or something. That 30hp which isnt to the wheels isnt gonna make that much of a difference. AND ITS A CHEVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rep Power: 256 Yeah the Cobalt SS looks like a nice car.....but we repair a whole s**t load more 2.2 GM motored cars then we do late model Civics.......I would bet money on a Honda going 300K way before I would bet on a 2.2 Ecotec going even 200K.

Rep Power: 0 I see there is a lot of conflict, and i know that there is also good things about my civic and the possibility of a cobalt. on the thing i would really like to more torque for everyday driving, which the cobalt offers...my vic just cant cruise the city would having to get up in the rpm's for daily driving and what not. i see many people have posted some good advice and also have brought up good points. thanx for yur opinions....but right now, im gonna pay off the civic so my trade in value will be better. i also know that the cobalt is the replacement for the cavalier and many people might just think its a updated cavalier, which is understandable but even so, it's still a nice car nonetheless...

Rep Power: 257 2.2L only puts out 145 crank hp?? i bet my vic puts out at least 140 crank hp now, chekc out the sig. 125whp baby, so if a cobalt puts out 130whp i think that civic 125whp > 130whp cobalt. (hint, cobalt is an elephant)

I suppose you have a point on the hp figures....but i garuntee the cobalt makes more torque anywhere on the powerband than any civic, i dunno about the k20....
