depends on the law there. i got a ticket at 17 but they didn't require parents at 17, only at 16. btw, call up there and ask if u need a parent or what not. I happen to have a court date on Jan 15 @ 1 which i will be working at that time. imo what court holds traffic case on weekends? imma go there tommorow and ask for a later date or defensive driving since i was speeding like mad.

I am not sure what differences a minor makes. But why would your parents kill you for getting a ticket? You are just out of luck of getting a ticket. My parents are cool, cuz they know its not my fault. Heck, my dad drives much faster than me and he has some road rage too. He gets angry at me when I drive because I dont drive aggressive enough.

do you pay your own insurance? because the ticket will most likely increase your rate and they may notice then if they don't find out before. If it's not a serious ticket, then I would just tell them. Now if its like 110 in a 55 then you may want to keep it on the down low.....

im not asian

a lot of places yer first speeding ticket is a given and your insurance will not go up..
the longer you wait to tell yer parents the more pissed they will be cuz you were "hiding it from them"...

even if yer parents are gunna go apeshit either way.. they might go less apeshit if you have already called the courthouse to find out if they have to be their too.. and if you have called your insurance company to find out if your insurance will go up or if you get a free one.. i discovered that parents really really hate hearing "i dont know" and "im not sure" when they are mad.. i think thats universal

In AZ, no parents have to go to court either. You just show up, and you do what they say. Try to get defensive driving since its a first offense. My parents were very very strict on me when I was younger, and they didnt care that I got tickets. I think they figure cops are a**ho**s. I know my dad does. My mom isnt the fondest, but doesnt hate them. Its that damn Sherrif Joe Arpaio though. He is the biggest a** of all the Sherrifs in the US! he tries to make people fear police in AZ. Sorry im ranting.

well you are in the minority. if i had gotten a ticket for speeding when i first started driving ages ago, my mom would have punished me and probably would have taken my car away for awhile.

Not a real big deal. I would just tell the rents. They will probably appreciate hearing it from you rather than Mr. Insurance man. Just pay the fine, and be done.

Don't sweat it. When I was in my teen years I got numerous tickets. Most of them were dropped or I just went to court and got them reduced. Just go to court and dress nice, and whatever you do agree with the judge. With your parents, I would just tell them, because insurance might be effected later on in the future.

I gotta go to court around mid january too, but it isn't for a speeding ticket

Go to court to ask for traffic school since it's your first time. I don't know, but I think it only takes off one point.

well with my insurance a ticket doesn't go on my account unless i'm doing 15 or over. Usually what I do is talk to the officer and usually he will lower it. That way I dont have to worry about going to court or having it on my insurance, I just pay the ticket and my parents never know. Plus if it is your first ticket then you might even have a better chance of getting it dropped. I got my first dropped to a warning actually.

I got a ticket a year ago right after i got my licence... i was going 125 in a 65, the cops clocked me at 115, they said theyd be nice and put 99+ on the ticket so they wouldnt have to arrest me. i paid my ticket of 300 something dollars online, i think i was 17. my mom didnt have to find out but i told her about it cuz shes cool and i knew she wouldnt care. i think i told her i was going 95 though hehe ;-)
