Paint chipping on hood
Does anyone else suffer from excessive paint chipping on the hood of their 7th gen? My car is full of little chips, some more severe with bare metal showing. Its an 04 with 19,000 miles on it and it is dissapointing to see such a thing. I'm wondering if the car is just more vulnerable to getting chipped by small rocks that are flung from other vehicles because of its sharply sloped hood, or if Honda cheaped out on the paint. My sister had an 01 with the same problem. I wax every couple months and rarely drive on gravel. I know its a econo box so it probably doesn't have the best paint, but based on other peoples cars, it appears to me that it is chipping much to easily. Anyone else had this problem? have any good solutions besides repainting the hood, or just your typical touch ups?

It chips a lot... probably a combo of shitty paint and the big angle on the hood.
I just clean em out and fill em with clear primer.

I dont think it is shitty paint because I dont have that problem and not alot of other people do. I think it is just **** flying on the hood from driving.
I can resist everything except temptation.

I enjoy the same bullshit problem. I just turned 30K on my 03 and the hood is hella chipped up. As well as some huge scuff on the bumper from a nice truck driver who tossed some chunk of rubber off his tire into my bumper, and 3 decent size chips in the glass. Not bad for a year old car.
I'm gonna have the entire thing repainted within the next few months.

stop tailgaiting people
my hood only has 2.. but my bumper looks like it was used for target practice.. so many dents, dings and chips from rocks.. and one nice big spiderweb from a bird..
FYI small bird+front bumper+80mph=eww..

yea this is a pain in the butt, i got an 03 with 22k and i got plenty of chips on my hood from highway driving i guess. there crappy paint. i see older cars that not one chip on there front hoods, im like wtf
it's just somethin' you gotta deal with, chips happen, especially with factory paint. you can get it repainted and have the body shop put an elastisizer (a flex agent used on platic parts like bumpers ect.) in the clear coat, but the best and cheapest thing to protect against them is that 3M clear mask stuff. but dont put it over fresh paint, and dont put a bra on your car.
