cooling fan issue
cooling fan issue
Hey guys,
On the way to work this morning I gunned it and sprayed the nitrous through 1st and 2nd just to test it out because I havent used it in a while...and well it definitely worked! Heh, anyway I was almost already at work when I did this. Infact it was on the same road that my job is on. Right after I turned the bottle off I noticed that my temp gauge was reading high than normal and and honestly this is not the first time I have noticed this but its been happening very intermittently. Only once in a blue moon. Anyway, I popped the hood and noticed that the cooling fan was not running. I turned on the a/c and both fans turned on. This tells me that the fan motor is fine. When I had my 93 civic, I had to replace the thermoswitch probably 3 or 4 times because of the same issue (intermittent fan operation/fan not turning on). Assuming that the thermoswitch was to blame I went to honda to get one (aftermarket parts like these are a waste of money) however, when I got there the parts person told me theres a possibility of the issue being caused by a sensor which is also on the thermostat housing I believe and/or the relay. My guess says that theres a good chance that IF one of those two parts are to blame, then my fan problem would not be intermittent and the fan would not turn on at all. Have any of you guys experienced any issues like this? Some good feedback would greatly be appreciated. Thanks
