how much did it cost to install the kit you got? did you buy anything extra that helped out? i called trubotrix in nj, and they told me 800 for the install, and 150 a hour to tune on dyno? is that good? thanks

Rep Power: 297 Tuning price seems high but there are a few dynos close to me so they compete a lil. I can get a whole 10 hour sunday for 450 if I tune myself, which is no problem on my part. Split between like 3 people its perfect. See if they will do something like that if you got friends that wanna tune their cars too.

I estimate around 3,400 for the kit. Whip Factory (here in IL) said they will instal for 500. Then about 200 per hour for dyno tuning. But I'm getting gauges, E-manage, new clutch, boost controller, turbo timer too, so it will end up being around 6000 all together for install, plus other items, plus install for those items. So yea...I got a good 10 months to finish saving the money..

Rep Power: 0 i did my install too, but i wouldnt call it free at all--new tools, plenty of blood drawn and so on. yeah, the dyno near me charges 75$ for three power runs, or 120$ an hour for tuning. just be careful who you take it to, even some shops dont really know what theyre doing. allspeed, the shop near me took 6 mos to get my friends rx-7 working right.
all of you that installed your own kit, was it the TSI by chance? i am looking at getting one but am not sure about the install. also what kind of stuff is tuned at the shops, when dynoing?

Rep Power: 0 I know they tune your fuel, so that you dont run too rich/lean. They may advance or retard your timing. They'll mess with boost to see what kinda power you make. Plainly just make sure you can put down some decent power without blowing your engine.

Rep Power: 287 i did my install my self too, and mine had a return line conversion. its not that bad as long as u have an idea whats going on...
BTW: turbo trix does good work, my boy took his evo there to get 2 lsd's ecu flash and dyno tuning... he loves them
