traded my brand new head unit
well, I just returned my brand new head unit (Pioneer 860MP), and bought an Alpine 9833. I liked everything about the pioneer but its looks, and the fact that it was slight silver. What do you guys think? Bad choice or what? The 9833 does have quite a bit more power and I think it looks better.

Just to clarify what Mystic is saying, if you haven't already realized it yet, tripledoublegs, the 9833 has selectable display colors for the buttons, any one of 512 different colors and shades. You can dial in a perfect match. The blue on the 33 is pretty nice in the car as well. The 9835 is the same exact deck only with the biolite display - very nice.

I actually didn't like the Alpine's display as much, altho I did think it was cool that you had 512 color choices. But the only thing you can change are the buttons on the left which make up about 30% of the display.
Either way you've got a good head unit. The Alpine has a tilt option so you can prevent glare from the sun, which is cool.

BTW, also you can change the bottom buttons 1-6 either green or amber, which is perfect for my interior!

same here. I wanted the 35 but it was 100 bucks more, and I can't really complain. I got mine for 320+shipping.

Doesn't really help since it tilts up. Still cool to have but not on our cars
