Don't even bother with the K24A2 from a TSX. May have more power than a regular K24, but how are you going to get around the electronically controlled throttle body? Just buy a K24 block and bottom end, and slap on a head from a RSX Type-R or S.

you can just buy a k20 or k20a1/3/4 throttle body

out of all of those, I would go with a k20a2

Just read September issue of Honda Tuning; excellent in depth analysis of "new" K20 engines, advantages and disadvantages of various componants with lots of input from Hasport and Hondata. October issue has an article entitled "Hybrid How-To" which shows the ideal setup, a frankenstein: K20A2 (RSX Type S) head mated with a K24 (2.4 liter) short block from a CRV. I believe Hasport has already fit one in a 7thgenvic. If you need to know how much this ideal setup costs, you can't afford it. Seriously, though, these articles are must reading for anyone considering a K20 swap.

Has anyone here of rebuilding up our d17's? Is it possible to bore the engine but better pistons, prt polish and change the valve springs. I don't know what I'm talking about but I remeber this dude with a Teg and he had his stock engine redone.

That is the NA route. I have thought about it, but it will cost more than a turbo set up and only get about 170 if you are lucky. I think it can be bored to at least a 1.9 maybe a 2.0. If you invested 8k in the engine you can get 200 out of it. Compression is the determining factor of if you want to turbo or NA.

If you were going to spend money on a turbo also why didnt you just get the Type-S then. Cheaper and it already has a lower compression ratio.

last i heard, hasport hasn't released engine mounts for the k24 into non-si (SiR in canada) civics.

The standard RSX motor has clearance issues with the intake manifold. The K20 out of the Civic SI fits fine. The RSX-S K also has no clearance issues. So the "Best Swap" would be a K20A2, because of the easy drop in and the availability of the mounts.

never really thought of a swap as "easy" but if I had $ i'd pay to have all that done and it'd b really easy.. just expensive..

any of the swaps would be better than your D17, obviously, but none of them are going to be "easy"
