Doing the job correctly and hooking everything back up is the only way to get it to start. There is something you are probably overlooking and forgot to hook up. Go back over everything really carefully and see if you missed something or hooked something up wrong.

is your Parking light on?.....if not, then you have to go to your automatic transmission and there is a sensor you have to set it to "Park" abd then plug in the harness. For taking off the key, there is a plug where the steering column is, unplug it and you will be able to take off the key....hope this help

First, you have to understand how an auto system works, and a manual system works.

AT has a different ECM

AT the shifter has both a starter switch and a key lock on it. When the transmission is not in neutral or park, it will not allow the starter to engage. When the transmission is not in park, it will not allow the key to be removed.

Manual has a starter engagement when the clutch is pushed in. No key lock. Reverse light is also different.

To correct the starter:
1. install pedal assembly
2. install clutch switch on assembly
3. black wire goes to ground
4. lt. green wire goes to under dash relay for the starter; this would be the gray wire from the shifter

Remove key lock wire-white/red

Also, you need the manual ECM
