so i took off the turbo kit last night...
i got to my friend house at around 4 yesterday in the afternoon and after numerous visits to hardware stores and auto parts stores, i finally got the car running... with one minor detail...
i'm running an EX manifold with an LX exhaust... it doesn't quite bolt up... actually it doesn't even come close to bolting up...
another difference with the 2 manifolds is the O2 sensor placement... there are 2 spots on the LX/DX manifold for O2 sensors... EX's don't have any on the manifold itself but rather on the midpipe and cat... 2 things which i don't have at the moment...
so using zip ties, hose clamps, exhaust bolts, me and my friends got one of the O2 sensors positioned right under the collector where all the runners from the head converge.... it's freakin' ghetto.. i'll ask my friend to upload the picture of it later...
anyways.. with no midpipe, no cat, and not being able to bolt up the manifold to the exhaust, i was basically running the car with.... yup you guessed it... open headers
the sound that came outta the car when i first turned it on was just scary.... it was sooo mean... i went down the nearest gas station while looking out for cops to buy my friends some smokes and a drink for helping me... we pulled up next to each other at the pumps and rev his dad's s class at me and smiled... so i did what any boost junkie on withdrawl would do... i reved back at him... but it wasn't like vroom..... it was like GWAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!~~~~ *POP* *POP* *POP*
it was so insane that my friend jumped back in his seat... i think i seriously scared the crap outta him...
so anyways... the car is at home chillin' until i get back from staffords tonight to pick up my stock manifold... it's gonna purrrrr like a kitten once i put it on...

Yes it is called back fire.
There is to much pressure comeing out thereear but not enough pipeing to catch it. Pretty much its like this breath in and out that's, what his exhaust does. Now imagne if u had half the lung what would happend if u kept breathing the same u would cough. That's pretty much what his exhaust system is doing coughing everytime its breathing in. So that's why u get the poping noise. Hope it makes sense just got back from the bar. So I'm a lil tipsy.
