turbo will be cheaper to get you to your goal of 200whp
but..............
being cheap on a turbo set-up will result in u buying a new block and pistons

synapse missing link, boost gauge, a/f gauge, egt gauge, oil pressure gauge, full custom exhaust, clutch, piggy back fuel computer (safc or emanage) and the most important thing is the fuel system.

b/c u are adding air, you need the extra fuel to burn properly and avoid detonation which can result in buring a hole in ur piston.
Avoid detonation at 7psi and you HG will be fine. Turn it up to 10 psi and u will have problems.
turbo plus no fuel=destruction
turbo plus fuel= a smile on you're face
fuel is needed to offset the compression of the turbo. I suck at explaning things so ill let someone else jump on this one! There is ALOT of info on the site, so look around...

higher than normal exhaust temps usually mean that you are running lean............and u can run 20 gauges if you wanted to

If you are planning on 200+ hp turbo Id say expect close to or over 5k if you do it right. If you scrounge and bargain maybe as low as 3500 with a LOT of extra time making stuff and friggin around. With the clutch, flywheel, intake mani., polished head, ss valves, springs and retainers, blockguard, headgasket, complete fuel sys converted to return with 440 injectors, full 2.5 exhaust, DS mbc, all the emanage goodies, heat wrap, alcohol injection, intercooler sprayer and all the other possible good stuff you can get with a dyno tune figured in, im in deep at about $9k+ but should be extremely reliable and realy goddamn fast. Should be back together within 2 months. Next year hopefully I will be sleeving, rods and pistons.LOL yeah it all depends on how far you want to take it. Im not stopping at least till I see 12s outta the FP civic. Just think, I dont even have 20k miles on the clock Bwahahahaha Whats wrong with me????
$5,000 to have 200whp on D17....I dont think so...I wonder what I have now....how much horsepower is 10psi....I know its different on different cars but I'm sure 9-10psi is CLOSE to 200whp right? someone enlightened me
Ill be running 12pounds high, 6 low for every day driving. But that will be max till the bottom end is done. I figure hopefully 230 whp. We will see. Buy A wet kit if you dont need constant HP its WAY cheaper. I just like having power there all the time.
