01 DX/LX Rear RSX Sway bar info

I found some information...

Progress mounting kit or custom made endlink mounting point.
RSX or aftermarket bar.
Bushings and holders if using RSX (included with aftermarket bars)
Replacing the Progress endlinks is up to you. They're better than the stock endlinks on the EX, but not as good as Grey's.

Has anyone have a link to a DIY on the DX/LX install? What exactly does custom endlink mounting point mean? Is it a hole you have to drill?

I'd would really appreciate it if someone with an 01 DX/LX who has installed a rear RSX sway bar could give me some more detailed install information.

Thanks

I've searched a bit more and I think I understand what I need... quick question... what do you guys think about this kit? Think I could use an RSX bar with it? or do you think that pretty much is an RSX bar? I know it's the same thickness (19mm)

grey made a DIY on this a LOOONNGGGG time ago. Most people like the RSX bar, but some people will still opt for a thicker bar like the progress 22mm.

It looks similar to Whiteline made in Australia. I had an adjustable Whiteline Swaybar on my WRX, 22-24mm which is similar to that, OBX. For $130, it's cheap since it includes support brackets, polyurethane bushings, and bolts / screws. I wonder how it fits.

Did you install it yet?

Endlinks are included too?

I wonder where that big clamp goes to [?] Is that a clamp or the Bracket for our Civic?

I miss this set-up: (Heavy Duty Brackets, Heavy Duty Mount, Alloy end-links, poly bushings)
http://www.pbase.com/image/18473512

Teflon Tape to minimize squeeks (and it works):
http://www.pbase.com/image/18473358

also, most people here install the swaybar with no loads (wheels hanging) whilst Subaru owners have been installing the swaybar with loads in it (rear wheels on the ramp)

I'll be waiting for your review HoldTheMayo

I viewed that set up ebay as well. It stated that it was an OBX brand. However when I went to the OBX site there was no information on that setup.

Keep us posted.

Also can you post a closer pic of the instructions.

It appears that the larger brakets would mount to the trailing arms of the rear suspension, giving a mounting point for the endlinks (as the non EX models of that year lack them on the lower control arms).

ahh, that explains it.

But it appears that I have a mounting bracket (04 LX) for the endlinks because I have a stock swaybar. Or this could be for the 03-below non EX models that doesnt come with a swaybar from the factory [?]

Zzyzx, did you install your swaybar with loads or no loads on the wheels/suspension?

Thanks.

Or maybe if we can find the website for the company that OBX Racing copied it from, we may have some idea

If you dont have adjustible endlinks then it doesnt matter.

Me, I had my friend sit in the drivers seat, with the suspension fully loaded and then adjusted the preload out of the bar with the adjustible endlinks...

for your car, try and attach it to were the stock endlinks mount, other wise you may need to use their brackets..

If you dont have a stock swaybar, you can just find the DIY from this site.

Thanks for stating the obvious. However the two DIY's that are there are not helpful. One you have to fit it up and drill where you think they should go and the other DIY is for the progress kit and that has a lower tie bar that you can use as a guide.

You're almost welcome. If you would have stated earlier that you are aware of those two DIYs, then I would have never mentioned it.

Let me rephrase your own question for you for specificity and clarification:

"Do they give a templete on where to drill for the sway bar bushing mounts? Because the two DIYs on this site etc blah blah etc..."

Anyway, let's just wait for HoldDaMayo to post up the picture again. Still a Red X.

It worked now HoldDaMayo.

The adapter, I have it on my suspension and the endlinks are attached to it.
