first things first.......... IBTM to F/I
anyway, no matter what, u are gonna spend a ton of cash. Turbo creates more heat but will produce greater power. IMO......superchargers are gay

bolt on greddy turbo kit for 02+ civic Si... ~$3,500
this is something i just remember seeing while browsing through their website, so i'm not sure if this is the best/cheapest kit on the market

since you are from canada and the canadian 01-04 si = 01-04 US EX, you can just get something for the 01+ civic ex.
oh and since you have an ex (canadian si) your only option is the turbo since no one makes a supercharger for the ex. there is only a supercharger for your canadian SiR (US Si)

usually turbo kits are made to just bolt up to the engine, and work on the stock engine... so that includes stock compression ratio

Superchargers actually create more heat when compared to Turbos. I think it has to do with the turbulence of the air that the SC creates when they hit boost.
Superchargers also need a belt that is turned by the engine so it takes HP to make HP.
Turbos need exhaust gas to turn it's turbine. So this setup is more efficient as no HP is needed to get the blades spinning and creating boost.
And the main reason why you don't see many Muscle Cars not using turbos is that the engine bay is too tight to fit the engine, plumbing, and the turbos themselves. Look on chevyhiperformance.com and there are several turbo charged small blocks that are running moderate boost putting down 500 + HP to the wheels
