There is a TSB out there about a squeaky clutch pedal...I don't remember which one, but I think I printed it out at home, I will have to check.

They lube the fitting on the top of the clutch master cylinder, blahh blahh blahh. I have been through 3 of these things now, and the only way honda fixed mine was to replace the clutch master cylinder everythime it started making noise. I just had there replace it agian last week. Fixed my problem.

What causes it to get messed up? The master cylinder or whatever? I don't want to goto Honda and tell them and they end up asking me have you been launching at 6000k Revs? lol...so basically what causes that to happen?

Civic si, come in all the time for a squeaking or poping clutch pedel. Its a very common problem with most of the civic that come in to the shop that I work at. My friends civic si is brand new and already it is squeaking, and he takes really good care of the car. Its just somthing that is becomming more common, such as the headlight recall. "The clutch master cylinder" there is a service bulletion on it, meaning that honda knows that there is a problem.

Yeah my buddy has an '02 that does the same thing. His clutch feels like it has rocks in it, not smooth at all, but he says he likes it so....I prefer a smoother clutch myself.

Does it have anything to do with launching? lol or it's just some factory problem?

The problem stems from the master cylinder..there is nothing that yoiu do that causes it...it is just one of those things

Okay umm it doesn't squeak anymore for me...when I am in neutral and if I engage the clutch like take it up and down it makes a clicking noise, like your side blinker...but I have to bring it ALL the way up before taking it down again...that is just normal right? I'm just a little paranoid because since volant is gonna be testing on my car and touching my clutch cable I don't want there to be clutch problems then when I goto honda they say you've touched your clutch warrenty = void.

actually...it's not squeek....

in my case, when u depress the clutch and push the gas pedal and the car start moving...there's this "crak crack crack" noises coming from under the hood.......not the clutch pedal..

mine has squeeked too! Easy solution @ Honda parts, pick up a can of White Lithium grease (honda mechanic first showed me this, and gave me a used can free) and spray it dicrectly on your clutch ,up under the clutch area, problem solved! and free!

hey man, down in the clutch area underneath, remove the covering of the clutch (easy with a turn of the latch, plastic covering opens up, so you can get all the way down where the clutch enters the wall/floorboard ..there will be a round circle and a small rod the clutch goes into the wall, all the way at the bottom of your car floorboard , that is what you spray the lithium grease on , it will sqeek no more man.

For those "gee gor" kind of sound, it is the clutch slave cylinder. You got to grease the part of the clutch slave cylinder which contacts with the fork going into the gearbox. Too bad I can't attach a picture here for you guys to see. I have posted it here before and you guys aren't the first to encounter this noise. The noise is definitely coming from this area if it isn't from the cabin. Leave me your email and I will send you a pic of it.
