turbo question

if i dropped a turbo in an civic ex coupe...and gave it 6 psi..how much horsepower do u think the civic ex wil have?....=D =D =D

all depends on the kit. this is just an estimate but at stock 127hp for the EX a good turbocharger with 6psi could get anywhere from 80-130 horsepower gain.

with Alcohol Injection the most anyone has ever ran was guns at 14psi! the most w/o Alcohol injection is 8psi

You have to remember that its more about horsepower than psi

You could hook up one of those tiny VW turbos, and run about 20 psi (assume you have adequate fuel upgrades) and still be on stock internals

But hook up a large turbo like a T51R or a T88H and you'll blow long before 8 psi.

Because a larger turbo flows more air than a smaller turbo at the same psi

and we all know air = horsepower.

^^ Exactly.

You'll have to just slap it on a dyno to be really sure. There are many other components that can affect HP. (i.e. log vs/ tubular manifolds, size of turbo like "gotboost??" mentioned, fuel, etc.).

Put it on the rollers and you'll know for sure. If it's a smaller turbo, I honestly doubt you will be seeing 180-200 on 6psi,
