You have to remember that its more about horsepower than psi
You could hook up one of those tiny VW turbos, and run about 20 psi (assume you have adequate fuel upgrades) and still be on stock internals
But hook up a large turbo like a T51R or a T88H and you'll blow long before 8 psi.
Because a larger turbo flows more air than a smaller turbo at the same psi
and we all know air = horsepower.

^^ Exactly.
You'll have to just slap it on a dyno to be really sure. There are many other components that can affect HP. (i.e. log vs/ tubular manifolds, size of turbo like "gotboost??" mentioned, fuel, etc.).
Put it on the rollers and you'll know for sure. If it's a smaller turbo, I honestly doubt you will be seeing 180-200 on 6psi,
