turbo discounter kit owners....

i have a chance to buy a (used) turbo discounters extreme kit for a great price. the kit is in good shape and all that but i wanted some opinions on it before i buy it. now all i want is to get maybe 180whp at the most, i dont want to turn up the boost or try and break any records, i'm just looking for some extra power for daily driving. i searched a lot of posts about the kit and have some questions for the people that have the TD extreme kit. someone who bought the kit had a lot of problems when he tried to install it (i believe he was the very FIRST person to buy the kit though), he had to buy all kinds of little things for this and that. then i read riceburners post and his install supposedly went smoothly, took about 2 days and he didnt mention anything about having to buy any extra parts. so i'm guessing they made some changes/adjustments.
so how was your install? where all the parts included?

and can someone better explain the fuel system? i would probably be running about 8psi, so will the supplied fuel set up work with that amount? if i remember right their set is adding an additional 2 injectors and some sort of black box.

some of the threads i read were almost a year old and back then everyone thought SF was all the rage so it was hard to get some clear reviews on the TD kit but from what it seemed like was that everyone except the 1 guy who was the first to buy the kit was pretty happy with it. could some owners give me their full reviews on it. how long have you had it? what you do like about it and what you dont like about it.

oh yeah, and could someone posts some pics of the engine bay? thanks guys.

StreetLevelPerformance is on a distinguished road
It is a nice kit. The fuel system consists of a mini fuel rail and 2 injectors controlled by the fuel unit. It is rather easy to tune just like the APEXi SAFC and VAFC. You can adjust fuel by percentages based on RPM.

I would say that it would be fine for what you are using it for. It's basically a starter kit for anyone looking for a little more power. It comes with a T25 which isnt a huge turbo, but it spools fast and adds to driving enjoyment.

Good Luck.

It's actually the TSI (Turbo Specialties) kit. Turbo Discounters wants to take credit for TSI because TSI doesn't sell to the public

bringing this up again! I would like to see more info on this kit since it uses a t25.
T25 is a better turbo than a t3 for automatics because it spools so much faster! They are also using a ball bearing turbo. The parts look like great quality so someone fill me in on this!
they also come with a warranty which no other company for our cars has?

if u want more than about 180whp get a T28, itll be a little more than a T3 or a T25 but its a great turbo, i love it, fast spool but can support the power that a T3 can. i think its the perfect turbo for a 1.7L IMO...but any turbo is good...turbos rock!!!

I have a td kit with a few modifications it works great. the only thing that I didn't really like was the instructions and the fuel kit. but there is enough of us that have it to help with questions. the turbo is great and it spools really fast

this kit is GHETTO in person though, i have seen it.... VERY shoddy.... shaddy even, LOL... i think the super 60 T3 is the ONLY turbo for our cars till you hit 350hp,..... then different is needed... i hit full boost around 3800rpm, who could ask for anything miore???? and also, i get no high end drop off like on the T25...... if you want to run more than say 7-8psi, better look into a t3.. i thinik a t3/t4 is REDICULOUS though,,,., no need on our motor... i dont like them anyways, HEHEHE
