Techy question about AEM CAI
pls, pretty pls

guys,
can someone "enlighten" ms pls on the techy difference between the AEM "Cold Air Intake" & "Short Ram Intakes"
Basically, I ain't techy at all & dunno what's the difference/best between the above products

If you search theres so much info on these but basically what it is.
Short Ram- Easy installation, Louder, Shorter piping
Cold Air- Most power. Longer piping, No heatsoaking as well

Cold air isn't necessarily more power. The longer tube has more potential to slow the air down. Less air = less power.
Try to avoid metal pipe. It gets very hot very quickly which can increase the temp of your air.
The K&N FIPK II is a short plastic intake with a heat shield to prevent hot engine air from getting in. Most people report that it's the best, including people who used to have various other brand's CAIs and SRI's and switched to FIPK.
