Throttle Body Spacer
Has anybody installed one on their vehicle and is there really any noticeable difference, besides the different noise. My buddy has it on his integra and is so convinced it has increased power. I kinda think its bs. Any input will be appreciated

I think OBX has one and so does HELIX (I think)
This would work well on a carburetor but not too much on our cars. The spacer is designed with a spiral flow that will make an airflow vortex. Can you say Tornado Fuel Saver? Same Idea. The Problem with our cars is that if you look at our intake manifold right after the air passes through the TB there is a flat plastic which disturbs the "vortex". Not only that but our IM on the runners has a spiral design in side to already do that.

On domestics I think they may work a little. But to say that they pulling hard as f*cK on an integra with intake?
Sorry, thats like all those people that slap on a CAI on our vics and say they feel the pull. it's like 2hp max. i got one and i couldn't feel any dif. it's all in your head

i thought the idea behind the spacers for cars with carburetors was that it allowed the air/fuel-mist mixture to mix better so by the time it gets to the intake valve it is more evenly dispersed. with fuel injected cars, that makes no sense.

I tested one on my truck about a year ago. I went to a 1/8th mile track and did a run without the spacer and another run with the spacer. Believe it or not, for whatever reason I actually had a faster time with the spacer. My theory is that the extra 2" it adds on your TB actually tightened up my throttle cable (since throttle cable linkage is hooked up to the TB). So basically it took out all the lag on the throttle and when you punch it, you get immediate response. Keep in mind this was on a truck which has a different TB position/location then any Civic would, but I thought I would share anyways.

^ Not only that but in our civic the in the runners of the intake manifolds it already has that technology so you don't really need the spacer.
I see the point of tightening the cable but you can do it manually with out the spacer and less work. IMO the Spacer does close to nothing for our cars. The only thing will be that you get a louder sound when the TB closes.
