Unsatisfied Hayame owners read!
I would like to start by stating that I am not leading any campaign or whatsoever against Hayame. I'm just throwing out an idea originally mentioned by member 518 in SlammedBlueEM2 's (who has been very critical and outspoken
) V.2 post. 518 suggested that the Better Business Bureau (BBB.org) should be contacted to assist Hayame owners who feel that they have been ripped off for a product that should not be on the market in the first place - those weren't his exact words but you get the idea.
I'm down $650 for something that is sitting in my room and is pretty much useless. From what I've read, I have no confident for any resolutions in the near future. I've filed an online complaint with the BBB before against Wheelsnext and believe me it worked. I'm pretty sure we have a lot of Hayame owners who are in the same boat. We could get the RSX guys in on this too and it would be even better. We also need to get more unsatisfied Hayame owners to speak up so that we know there is a legitimate problem and not some isolated cases.
More importantly, we need to determine who's liable? Hayame, the distributor, or the venders. Hayame is not listed in the BBS directly because it's an oversea company, but I searched BBB and found that SPW Industries is, under SPW Distributors, Inc.
This is the case: False advertisement and dangerous (rear does not lower no near than what is advertised with a safe amount of preload). Futhermore, the revised version did not fix the problem. I'm not sure what kind of case we could come up with for the front fitment problem, but I'm pretty sure there is one.
Again, this is just an idea. It's early in the morning, I'm tired, I'm pissed, and I'm broke. Please chime in.

Dude, what does this have to do with the vendors?
They are not making the coilovers, so leave them alone. Go read the thread "Turbo kits ready, here's the proof!"(In Forced Induction and Swaps) or something like that and you'll see how vendors feel.
Ok, now let's think logically....MOST coilover systems cost $1000+, now you spend $650 and you think you're going to get a quality coilover system?

Not taking sides or anything yet, I do have the Hayame 2.0's and they seem solid and beefy. I'm installing them in 48 hours so I can't make any kind of conclusion till then, and I don't think anyone who hasn't tried to put them on his car should make any sort of "unsafe" or "ripoff" claim. The fact is I'm in agreement with most about the 0-4" claim being only for the front, and that to really get some rear drop is gonna be hard or impossible. But there ARE satisfied people here, and there ARE people who will say that the Hayames are good, especially for $650. Before everyone goes to the BBB to make claims that could damage that business's reputation irreparably, let's hear from the people who have had Hayame coilovers work on their rides. Don't get me wrong, if my install on Monday goes to **** I'll be first on here bitching about it. I just think people should try installation first. And of course, the first defence SPW/Hayame would launch at anyone would be "was it a PROFESSIONAL installation?". Let's also hear from people who have had their Hayames professionally installed, so as to rule out the possibility of wrong installation. Yes, the DIY is great, I'm just spelling out how any kind of attack on Hayame would go, and if someone on here were to come up and say "I've had my Hayame coilovers installed at a professional installation facility, and there are inherent problems with the design", it would hold more water than "I put these on while my car was on jackstands in the garage", no matter how good you are with your car *ahem, Grey, ha ha*.
OK, I'm rambling, it's 10am, I've had less than 5 hours sleep. But again, let's hear from the people who have gone to shops to have their Hayames installed, and from the people who have been able to achieve a decent drop on their coilovers - what special magical procedure did you have to undergo to get these coils to drop?

I just installed mine last night. Despite some serious toe adjustments needed in the front, the install went fairly smooth. Once I get the toe done a few min from now, I'm taking it for a test drive. I'll let you know how it goes.

Otherwise, I've come to my final decision. I'm returning both sets of Hayame coilovers to SPW and getting my money back for both sets. That won't be the only course of action I'll be willing to take towards them. I was tempted to taking a trip down to So Cali so they could see what's up but the **** ain't worth it. They've lost their last chance due to ****ing up the front tie rod arms. After 5 months of this crap I am ready to move on.
The vendors are not liable! They don't even open the box and touch them. All they do is sell the product. SPW could be held liable because they've made claims it does lower the car enough. You can call them "American Hayame".
-False advertisement
-Misleading installation instructions from SPW (I was told to DRILL the V2 holes for the front - then the same person later says to someone else, "Oh, it just goes in upside down.")
-Revised coilovers were more of a cosmetic improvement than a functional one.
-Mis-matched springs (some people had different rear springs, some people had the same rear springs of the RSX version with the V1s).
B&G here I come.

Looks like I only have one complaint now after being professionaly installed by Konno Sport Tuning.
Is it because of the bolt really???

Im gonna dremel the hayame tomorrow so the OEM 19mm bolt fits again.
TIA

I got mine installed with Mex (who made the DIY). I doubt it would be the installed problem for me. My rear won't go low enough with pre-load plus clicking sound in the front (after grease + tigthen 3rd nut). I havn't try out v2 yet but I don't feel confidence about the new version either. Slam will they refund your product? What did you tell them?

What size tires are you guys using?
They will. First of all I bought the V2s and they charged my card for it. That's $1300 but $650 gets returned once I give them the old ones (since they're considered defective). I will return the new ones because they've barely been used and I'm still unsatisfied with the drop results, unprofessionalism and inconvenience. I'm getting my money back.
