Drilled a hole through my gas tank.
Long story short, I was trying to screw my subs down to the inside of the trunk, and the screws penetrated the gas tank
Anyway.. I don't have the ***** to attempt to drop the tank, so I'm going to try to carefully cut away a square piece of steel (where the hole is) so i can get to it with some epoxy. Anybody know if gas will eat through epoxy? I'll try to take a pic of what I did..

Actually my car is a WRX.. anyway heres a pic of the holes i drilled... upon further inspection, looks like out of the 3 screws, only 1 penetrated... the other screw penetrated a rubber hose, but when the car is charging the fuel pump or running, i look at the puncture hose with a flash light, and i dont see anything coming out of it.. maybe its a air hose?
ooh i saw this on monster garage once....
nah im jk
if you do cut some metal make sure u do it manually with sheers to create no shards or sparks then carefully clean the outside of the tank... put the epoxy making sure u cover it good and completely. do not weld more metal back over it because there is a chance u screwed up the epoxy lol jp but this should be only a temporary solution so u may drive it to a mechanic to have them replace tha tank and weld a piece of metal back ...
btw i dont know how u did that because the gas tanks are located under rear seats mostly only a good 2 inches might peek into the trunk space.

dnbguy86 brings up a good point that I forgot to mention. Yes, the epoxy is meant as a TEMPORARY repair, much like radiator stop leak just to get you to a service shop.
Even if a repair appears to hold, it will eventually break. Besides, a gastank does not cost a fortune.
BTW, NEVER, EVER weld a gastank. The shops that do this, wash the tanks, steam clean them, etc. And even then it can still be dangerous. Gas does not burn. The vapors do.
Better safe than sorry.
