B&M vs. REVO

ok, as far as i know the revo is the entire shift assembly. is the b&m an adapter or the entire shift assembly as well? i heard some guy on the forum went through like 3 revos and now hes usin the b&m and hes happy. i also heard that adapters will fu*k up your syncros. too many questions but answers are appreciated. last one. which one is better, more solid shifts, less problems and shorter shifts. thanks peeps

If some guy went through 3 Revo's I would say the guy was using it as a pry bar and not a shifter. The Revo is great.

I started a topic just like this a couple of days ago. I ended up getting the revo. The B&M isnt an adapter, its a whole new shifter, it uses the oem plastic housing but changes the stick. They both are good and they will both give you really nice shifts. The biggest difference between the two is the price. If you ask almost anyone on this site, they will tell you revo, thats because most of them have one and they love it. So i would say that revo is a good choice. Deff. need to get greys and capyodas kits.

I don't think there are B&M "people"... I think I've read about one person who's had one on this site. Another vote for the Revo, I greased mine up this weekend and it's nice and smooth again.

ok here is some thing, i got the nuspeed adapter, which i thought came with the stick (post)but it didnt. o well...but any ways i wanted a short shifter ( post) with a shorter through(travel)....does the revo give you this ( and i mean really short) basickly i just want to be able to use my wrist to shift into the next gear...not so much push forward with my whole arm...which one gives you this...

at club rsx, people who have tried both praise b&m greatly ... once I get some money, I'm gonna go b&m (I currently have revo ... that was my 1st mod, about 2 yrs ago)

Alot members from Clubrsx revo owners are switching to B&M.
Adaptors will not ruin syncros.

After reading many bad reviews of Revo, I would have to say go with B&M.

there are 2 versions of Revo SS; non-adjustable (1st revision) adjustable (2nd revision) i think they are both same throw, but for the newer version you can adjust it to make it even shorter throw than the non-adjustable. i think that's what you mean by "older version has longer throw compare to new version"

^^..

not exactly..

i remember that there's this senior member who rant about his revo....cos' his was the first version of revo...and the steel was shorter compared to the second version..

indeed, there was this newer edition which is adjustable....but that's not what i meant.

anywho, it seems like B&M is more accurate in shifting compared to revo..

I'm not sure what the price difference is but I know the revo is $90 and it's a easy install, the B&M has to be put together in the factory plastic. I've had a REVO for 3 years and no problems yet and I shift pretty hard sometimes.

i have the b&m, i'll only recommend that one eventhough i've only used the revo once in my friend's car...i love how b&m feels, i like the fact that there's more metal than plastic in the kit...and just the fact that b&m is way more popular than revo....

ok, apparently a LOT of the people on clubrsx.com are complaining about the b&m ...

now they are saying when they shift hard, it bends their shifter cables which is bad and quite a pain in *** to replace ...

Man, Thats deffinetly not makin me happy, how does it bend them, it dont understand how that can possibly happen, there not at an angle? So now I can shift hard a guess, which is the whole reason why i got the B&M.

and like the revo, the b&m can also switch gears with the wrist

Grey's upgrade will fix that jingling problem.
I have the revo and there are no complaints from me. When compared to stock, the throw is a lot shorter but then you get used to it and after awhile, the throw doesn't seem so short anymore but i guess it's that way for all short shifters.
