A bumpstop is the rubber peice in your shock that keeps your shock body from slamming into the upper part of the shock. #16 in this pic

I did with my Eibach Sportlines... no problems so far.

you dont have to cut them... but it is recommended per the instructions

I heard of some guys that regreted cutting thiers so I didnt cut mine, plus when your shock compresses the bottom part would hit the bumpstop instead of the top, so the more rubber the better it, would protect your shocks from bottoming out? am i correct? or am I totally wrong? made sense to me?

If you dont cut your bumpstops your struts and shocks have less room to move up and down. When that happens, it makes for a bumpy ride since its bottoming out on the bumpstops. So more rubber isnt always better...
