Tein - Question for those installed

I just bought and installed my Tein Basics this weekend and I hear this grinding noise, similar to the break pads when they're wearing out but it's a squeek.... It's more metal to metal grind on the front wheels and it smells like rubber....

I've checked the tires and there's no sign wear and no metal dust. I just wanted to know if any one who is lowered or has Teins have expirence the same noise... It doesn't sound bad, It's just buggin me cuz u hear it when the car is in motion....

I'm installing new roters and pads hopefully tomorrow and getting an alighment later this week and hoping this will make that sound go away.... Any ideas

Sorry to hear you're having problems....but I was wondering how much you have it dropped and how stiff the ride is. Is it still comfortable? I do a ton of freeway driving, but stock shocks/springs suck. I haven't seen a good review of the basics yet...any thoughts appreciated and good luck with your issue.

how many inches can you play with on your tein basics?...what's the range on those?...i went to the site but i couldn't figure out whether the basics only drops down to 1.8, or if 1.8 is the height in which the car drops after you have everything installed. oh and about your problem....wish i knew man!

Kore, did you buy the 2001 upper bearing ring for the front left and front right struts? If you didn't, that could be the problem.

1.8 inches is the recomended drop from Tein. I have TeinSS and I'm lower a little less then 2 inches in the front and about 2 inches in the back..... i still have about an inch to go on the coilovers before they are at the lowest setting.

hey thanks man!
are you satisfied with the ride, the performance, and the look that tein SS provides? or would you switch to the new hayames that offers a much lower drop and has 3 bolts rather than 2? i need some insight from ya'll. thanks

i doubt i would change to hayames cuz hayames dont have damper setting. i live in philly and the roads are pretty rough around here in some areas and if i couldnt make my shocks as soft as i want it would be a rough ride. once i set up my TeinSS for almost full softest setting they started to ride 10X better then stock..... softer and smoother WHILE eating up corners at the same time. best $ i ever spent.

Maybe he needs some grease somewhere?
I was reading a review of some other coilovers and they need grease to cure a similar sound when turning at low speed.
