URGENT Help! EBC Rotors + EBC green stuff pads

Ok guys, I just installed some EBC slotted rotors, and EBC green stuff brake pads...and when took it for a test drive, everytime i brake, it makes this nasty scrapping sound...sounds like metal to metal friction...
is that normal? does it take a while for new pads to wear out or something?
also, on the box of the brake pads, it says something about do not use the stock back plate for the brake pads, so I put the EBC's as is out of the box, without the slip covers...is that bad?
i just want this grinding/scrapping noise to go away!!!

i heard brake pads need to be broken in...true?

EBC specifically says not to use the stock back plate...else there will be exess friction even when i don't apply the brakes cause its ALOT thicker...and i mean ALOT

the pads are a lot thicker than stock? I know they are harder but nothing is good when it sounds metal to metal, is there serious new scoring on the rotor?

also, i dunno if i bolted on the 2 bolts too tight or not tight enuf, but i kept turning them, and they just kept going, and going, and going, but didn't feel like it was getting any tighter so i left em like that. is that bad too? >_<

haha you need a wrench to hold the nut/washer while you tighten the bolt...go look at it again.

My friend runs EBC pads and rotors on his eclipse, for what it's worth his have been really loud since day 1. They get louder when they are warmed up and sounds like a high pitched scraping/squealing sound. Everyone I have talked to has said EBC's pads are very noisy (some to the point of sounding like worn out brakes).

intruder: that's gonna be a problem...cause then i can't tell when the brakes need to be checked to determine how much wear it has gone through, i won't know when to change the pads in the future! >_<

any other information on this?

i have been driving for 200 miles now, and the scrapping has died down a bit, but i can still hear it if there is no ambient noise.
