Has Anyone in Ontario Done the E-Test Yet?..===> weird update
Ok, my 2K1 is going in this weekend for it's first E-Test.
My question for anyone that's already done this is.....
Can you trust Canadian Tire to do the test or not? I wouldn't EVAR give them my car for any kind of mechanical work but it's gotta be hard to fu(k up an E-Test...you would think anyway.

DON'T GO TO CT FOR ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sorry Drew, I wouldn't trust CT mechanics (if you can call them that) not AT ALL!
I went to Precision Auto in Orleans, and they're awsome. it's off Innes, you can see it off the main drag. They have a waiting area upstairs, with awsome mags, and you can watch them do the e-test from the waiting room window.

Well I got it done today at Penzoil. I had my oil changed earlier in the day as well.
Here's the results....
My GAS CAP failed the pressure test.
Apparantly this is a known problem (according to the e-test guy) in the 7thgen Civics. I had to replace the cap to pass the test ($15.00).

I have a question though. My car being a 2003, you say i will go in to do my testing in 2006, a couple months before my birthday. Can you tell me the rules on when i would go in? (every 50,000 KM, every 35,000 KM, etc)...
Because this just is just bothering me cuz i feel so clueless here. Besides, with my birthday being in February, a couple months before would mean december 2005. Plz explain the rules here.
Thanks in advance

The car has to be 3 years old before you have to test it.
In 2006 it will be an odd year so your 2003 will have to be tested before you can get your sticker.
If you're lucky they'll have gotten rid of the testing by Jan of 2006 so you won't ever have to bother. (I'm told that 2006 is the last year)
How can you be totally clueless when they have an entire website devoted to this??
http://www.driveclean.com/
Not only do they tell you which years of cars need to be tested:
Model years to be tested in 2004
1985 1987 1989 1991 1993 1995 1997 1999 2001
------
Model years to be tested in 2005
1986 1988 1990 1992 1994 1996 1998 2000 2002
But they also have a calculator on the page to tell you which year you begin testing.
