You got 3 demesrit points.
You should plead, "guilty with an excuse". You'll give yourself 6 months to come up with the money and that should be enough time to come up with an excuse to get the fine reduced. Then you go meet with a cop and say your story, and he will decide whether or not to reduce it. THe worst that happens is you waste 2 hours, but get a 6 month extension on the payment. I got my 40 over ticket reduced to 25 over.

you mean the cop didnt let you go with 15over? damn....15 over would of been no points and a $50 fine.....I guess the cop was not having a good day or he didnt like you cuz of the car you drive...typical
Fight it!
Fight it!
keep pushing it back. my brother did that 3 times, and when he stopped pushing it and finally appeared, the cop was like ah forget it and didnt show. had it thrown out completely.
if he does show up after all the pushing back, have an excuse ready, if you're a student, ive had friernds who've used that to get the cop and judge to feel for them. that may help your case.

What excuse should I use......I am a student and I was late for school.
And exactly how do I push back a court date, do I goto court and if I see the cop there then do I make an excuse, how does it work>?

The best excuse is to say you were just passing a car (if it's a two lane highway) and the jackass beside you accelerated.
Or something like you were not feeling well and needed to go home to take a crap.

I got a similar ticket 74 in a 50. Its my first ticket, so at first i set a first attendance meeting, but then i changed it to a trial date
go with a trial date,
im still not sure if i should get a lawyer or not

I got a ticket a while ago when I was still in school. I fought it and the judge brought me into chambers and talked to me there....it wasn't a traffic ticket, it was for headlights. I gave her a sob story about how I was a starving student and I paid so much money for legal headlights, I didn't have enough to pay the ticket. After she yakked my ear off for half an hour about how her son went to McMaster, she dropped my fine to $20 (from !00+) and sent me on my way.

starving student, on osap, need money, learned your lesson, just trying to make it in this world and you're already in financial difficulty because of OSAP. make up whatever you can, dont say late for school cuz thats dumb, they'll be like ok so if we could we'd give you a ticket for not being punctual. just say you;re in school, dont relate the fact that you were speeding to your education, because you'll hear the following..."well if ytou speed you'll die and will never make it to class, case dismissed"
well not literally but you get my point. good luck
I'm not really sure what's up with you guys....
The majority of the time it's much much MORE than just paying the fine itself. Even if you can get it reduced to 0-15km/h over the speed limit, it's still a speeding ticket. Sure, the fine is much lower ($75?! I have no idea), sure, it is 0 demerit points, but it is STILL considered a MINOR offence on your record.
*Some* insurance companies will not give you a break with 1 speeding ticket, and will charge a premium on your *** (10% surcharge? 20%? No clue.) Other insurance companies will waive ONE ticket. The conviction stays on your record for 3 years.
On another note, from what I understand, EVERYTHING that you are CONVICTED of will forever be on your driver's record, meaning the NEXT time you get pulled over for 25km/h over the speed limit, the cop will think you're a speed demon, and may then decide not to lower it, since you have a record of speeding.
(Not sure what happens about tickets/convictions that are thrown out of court though)
If you surf the ClubSI.com Ontario forums, you hear poor guys with like 3-5 tickets on their record, paying $4000-7500 for SIX MONTHS of coverage on a 1988 Corolla, or some other 10+ yr old beater. WTF??? Even the worst of my times I never paid that amount.....
In summary, if you have no clue WTF you're doing, pay XCopper or POINTTS and get the job done right. Note that they cannot, and do not, guarantee that the ticket will get thrown out in court... So you just end up paying $$$ for some old ex-copper to plead it down to 0-15km/h over for you....
I got dinged REAL bad with a REAL BAD ticket on the nice sunny Saturday just before March Break, and I'm pretty much screwed... had to shell out $500 for XCopper to fight it. I hope it goes in my favour.

sorry to here that FurBall. I heard that if there is any mistake on the ticket then it means that the ticket is void. Is this true?
Also on the ticket where your licence plate number is writtin right next to it is a box that says year. Does that mean the year the car was made or how old the car is?

I got a ticket doing 25 over on a 50 zone. The cop even should me radar read 74. To top it off i didn't have the insurance slip with me, and that alone is a 75$ ticket. But the cop lowered it down to 10 over since he realized that it was my first offence. So i got no demerit points plus a 40$ fine, but it does go on ur record for at LEAST 3 YEARS which is not good.
Try to talk to the officer BEFORE u go before the judge against him, if he shows up. He may be able to reduce it for you, or if ur lucky throw it out all together.
