2004 VP/DX cat back exhaust

Recently obtained a 2004 VP..Value Package..which has the non-Vtec engine, DX like with cat convertor on the front of the engine. Having a problem finding a "true blue fit" of a cat back exhaust for this car. It is not a EX/LX. Does anyone know of a good cat back for this car that is reasonably quiet. Have a DC system on my 2001 EX which I had hoped could fit somewhere on the car but DC says no, none of the parts.

DC does make one for the LX. And the LX and DX are the same engines.

As for any kind of exhaust.....you can really get any kind you want. Just purchase the Tanabe extension pipe which I found cheapest at www.optauto.com and then you can buy any EX cat-back exhaust.

VP/DX exhaust

Thanks for the info...however, the 2004 is a coupe and the 2001 EX I am trying to transfer the exhaust to is a 4dr. The extension you mention would be great. Could one use the cat back for an EX 4 dr with an extension and get it to fit a DX/LX coupe. Any ideas

I don't think the VP and LX models exhaust for the 2004 are the same. I have a 2004 VP and the part that goes after the shorty header goes all the way to the catback muffler. The exhaust system only has 3 pieces. The shorty header, The pipe from the header to the muffler, and the muffler. It seems like the 04 VP is welded down instead of bolted down at the part where the 04 LX does.

2004 VP/LX exhaust

The owner's maintaince/service manual for the 2004 has only two exhaust systems..VP/LX and the EX . I guess I will need to look aat the LX on the lot next time I am at the dealer.
