timing belt broke! what to do!

My timing belt broke. My dad an i have gotton a new one on. but i can't seem to get it time just right. I know i have to have the cam shaft at tdc. The cam gear has up on it so i can figur that one out. but it is the crank shaft that i just don't know. Of course i have an rvm crank pulley on so i can see any the one the outside. If i take it off. Not all the way just the bolt so i can see the carter key would i have that one facing up as well to have it time? I need input asap. I have no car
hey Jonny9508 i just looked at my civic service manual , and if u had one it would help you but im not sure what ur problem is . But i think that this might help u , this it what it says "To set the crankshaft to TDC , align the TDC mark on the timing belt drive pulley with the pointer on the oil pump" the pointer on the oil pump is like a little arrow thing. I dont know if that is what u were looking for or not but I'll check this thread back tomorrow and see if i cant help u a little more , cause everything u need is in the manual . bye
CHECK THE HEAD BEFORE PUTTING THE BELT ON!!!!!!! my brother broke his while driving and it bent some valves and it wasn't much of a bend either...just a thought...we had a hell of a time getting it started and we finally took the head off and got it looked at and 2 valves were bent... you can check by taking the head off and spraying wd-40(or gasoline) in the valve pockets and seeing if it drips through to the other side
You need to either a buy the service manuel from
http://www.helminc.com or go to your honda dealer and ask to see the manuel. It tells you step by step on how to remove and to install a new belt. I would scan mine in for you but its over 7 pages.

You can’t just do it your self for one thing when a belt brakes it puts your timing all off. If you try to start your car without having the right timing you will bend valves or worst. Sorry man, if your timing belt is under warranty or less than 100,000km have Honda fix it. Put back your old pulleys.

ok here is what you have to remove.
jack up the driver side car, make it secure. remove wheel
remove junk on top and around valve cover
remove valve cover
unbolt and push out of the way the power steering pump
remove alternator
remove the dust shields for the water pump and cam gears
jack up engine a little
remove driver side motor mount bracket
set TDC,
loosen the crank pully bolt
set tdc again
remove the tensionor
remove the crank pully (there is a small key that is in it, dont loose it)
at this time remove the water pump and repalce it, the tensionor will need to be replaced as well.
re-assemble in reverse order, tq everything to spec, and youi are golden.
people are all talking about bent valves.... but honda grooves the tops of the pistons so that if you DO break the belt, it wont mess up your engine, so you really shouldnt worry about it. Now if you drove a mitsubishi, it would be a completely different story.
ok well if you can not see the marks on the pulley or oil pump etc... then you need to take out the spark plugs. get a long screw driver and stick it in the #1 cylinder and rotate the crank counter clockwise until the screw driver stops going up. then you should be at TDC. it may take you a little while to get it dead on but this is how me and my friend put is on.
Move the car onto the road. Call the automobile club (AAA) if you are a member. Get the car flat bedded to the nearest Honda service center. Say that it happened while driving and have them fix it under warrenty. Hide any evidence of you tampering with the car (don't mess with things you don't know).

i guess this model of honda is the first to have the non-interference then.......

That is not totally true. Most Honda engines (B and D series especially) will bend valves when the belt breaks.
