recarpeting the WHOLE trunk

sorry in advance if this is in the wrong forum i did not think it was ice because im not messing with wiring yet.

ok i want to know if anyone has ANY input on this . i want to start a little project by recarpeting my whole trunk EVERYTHING even the back of the seats. i took a look at the carpeting in there and i think its just thick carpet thats been stiffened. how hard would it be to redo everything. eventually i am planning to do some custom work involving some plexiglass and such.

ANYTHING GUYS.

I dont think it would be to hard. I helped my friend put carpet on his sub box. Just use spray on glue and staples on the edges.

actually the sides may be hard.. because theres nuthign solid to mount the carpet too. glue might work, but the weight of the new carpet could change the shape of the sides.

so nm... it might be hard. lol

LOL LOL

i was thinking of just laying the new carpet over the molded carpet and using the same clips that hold up the molded carpet.

I was thinking about just having a custom interior shop redo my trunk in all black carpet instead of gray.

the problem is that the carpet goes over the curves with no creases or anything; i'd at least get some professional help if not have them do it.

just use the existing carpet as a mold, ive done it in a 7thgen already, took alot of time, but was worth it. the guy i did it for just wanted his custom sub box carpet to match the rest. strip your trunk of everything and just line all of it with new carpet, we found out that layering it made it thicker, eliminating the need for extra sound deadening. sorry, no pics, but we used spray adhesive, no staples.

getting the edges perfect, getting the holes to line up perfect, getting the tack to stick right the first time, had to use like 3 spray cans worth. so i should rephrase that.
it wasnt hard...it was time consuming.

Here is something I did a while back. There's a pic a few posts down from the first. It sort of describes what I did. I would recommend getting some spray adhesive specially made for carpets. I even went for the high heat resistant one. Just the floor and amps are done. I just left the sides.
