haha most people out there probably think this is ricey or whatever but i already have 17" motegi rims and don't want them on in the winter. Im putting my 15" steelies back on with the wheel covers. Ive always wanted black rims but since its only winter i thought i could just paint them black haha. I know the paint won't last very long but does anyone know what paint would be the most durable and how would i go about prepping the plastic cover and stuff. Thanks for any advice.

This kid by me did that, except he painted them white...looked awful, plus he like hit a curb or something and it made his hubbies spin off center, the white paint made that stand out so hardcore....looked so lame. But do what you want

yea they are black, but in some spots they are starting to rust so i jsut wanted to cover them up. im gonna wait til it gets warmer to try to paint them and if it looks gay i'll just have to roll on my steelies til its spring so i can put my motegi's back on
Good point about the rust. Here in Portland Oregon, we have a pretend winter, but once in a while you get a glimpse of real winter. They don't use salt so the rust isn't a problem. But, we get the cruddy roads that are shot from all the people running around on studded tires...
Atleast you guys get a real winter to show for your cruddy roads

Do the gunmetal. I was thinking about doing that, but I already have gunmetal rims. Its not ricey... Just as long as you don't do it bronze or white or red or something then its all good. Look up Top Fuel's car, he did it. I just left my hubcaps off because it doesn't look right with my new tires. 195/65/15 look friggin FAT on my car. Looks like truck tires, lol.
I'd say just sand off the clear coat and put a couple coats on and see how it holds up..
A couple years ago, I drove a camaro during the summer and I had this oldsmobile that was white and uhhh rust for winter. Well since it was just a winter car and the body was just completely done as it was.. so, I painted that thing about 4 different colors and I painted each rim. One red, one blue, one gree, and one yellow.. that was quite a site... ha oh man, the memories..

Paint them hot pink or bright green.. nah just jokes..
Paint them black if you want (would look ok) or if you want to go for that look just don't put the covers on and drive w/ just steelies.
