Question Anyone get warm toes? Anyone know HOW?

My 2001 EL has really messed up heating ducts for both driver and passenger side.... Design flaw...

Now, has anyone tried to FIX this?

It was too friggen cold to really do any analysis on my part, but I was feeling around the ducts and stuff, and the air is indeed nice and hot when it's blasting, but it seems that not only is the air not blowing in the right place, but it's spread too wide..... Blast the heat for a few minutes, then place your hand right in the centre of the footwell... It's absolutely COLD!

- the air ducts are pointed too down; resulting in most if not all the heat going straight into the corner (top right of footwell on driver side, top left in passenger side)... This makes the carpetting in that little corner nice and hot... Doesn't do anything for my toes....

- For the remaining heat, it's just slowly "spread" around, but it's still ends up being stuck up in the corner.... I will have to pull out my winter mats to see if that would help, but I don't think so....

I'm thinking of making some kind of shroad (?) to redirect the air towards the centre of the footwell, so the gf and myself can have nice warm piggies.... Any suggestions on how? Any suggestions on what to use? I was thinking of using plastic from a cut up flexible binder cover... Not sure exatly how I'm going to attach it tho... Was also thinking of using PVC pipes from Home Depot, but I need something that looks like like a funnel to redirect the air....

If there's no frost or snow on the windshield, just redirect the airflow to go to your feet only. That's what I do and my feet never get cold.

usually.. if im in my car for more then 15mins... my feet/toes would all of a sudden get cold.
or it would just get colder where i would finally realize it.
this has been happening for the past two weeks.

when you direct airflow downwards only.. it doesnt do jack s h i t, except for where the gas pedal is... as furball mentioned

i find that if you redirect all all the air to the feet and then shut off the side vents, it actually helps with heating down there. but i guess it's just a way around the problem and not fixing it. keep us posted on what u come up with furball!!!

I have talked to the manager about this problem, because my toes are always frozen. They said its just like that and they can't do anything about it.

That's right. THEY can't.... Doesn't mean WE can't rig a ghetto-style fix and get warm piggies.... Friggen idiots at Honda never user-tested their architecture in cold weather.... Figures... What pisses me off is that it worked just nice and fine in the 2000 Civics.

I'd rather try to fix this ish by using funnels/redirection of heat than installing a bracket and installing a mini-heater in both foot wells........
