Question drop w/17's without camber kit? help!

i was wondering how many inches i should/can drop with 17's, and be able to get away without a camber kit. the camber kit is kind of holding me back, it's hella expensive at all the wheel shops i've talk to. one guy told me that a camber is absolutely necessary, otherwise i'll be buying tires every three months. anyone beg to differ? any suggestions? thanks!

get it online, i seen them go for like 120-130 for the rears, and 165 for front and rear. Its not absolutely necessary, but yea, if you wanna save your tread, its best to get one. I think probably 1-1.3 driving without a camber aint thaaat bad. But, im not exactly too sure.

He's right, you wont be able to go very much maybe an inch at the most without having abnormal tire wear. Even then with a minimal drop it will show up eventually. For $150 its worth it, why buy tires every month because the insides are worn out from too much negative camber?

I grabbed my SPC kit (front and back) for $100 shipped from ebay, brand new.
Just keep your eyes open in the group buys and on ebay. Without a kit, i wouldn't go more than 2", or start saving up for multiple tire purchases.

im in the same situation... im thinking of just going with the camber kit, sounds way better than buying tires all the time. but im interested in what other people think too... camber kit an absolute must? any personal experiences?

Get the Eibach pro kit. It drops you 1-1.3 inches. You will need to get your wheels aligned after they settle, but you do not need a camber kit.

The NEED of a camber kit can ONLY be determined by an alignment machine. But most likely 1" or more and you'll need one. Need is suggestive to some people. When i say need i mean need to maintian facotry alignment specs. NOT need you cant drive down the road with out one.

Correct, its not completely nessecary to get one for any amount of drop, it will just save your tires and allow your tires to have a maximum contact patch with the road. To me its worth the $100 or so to get it but you dont have to have it, its your choice.

Read Suspension FAQ.

I don't have camber kit with Tein s Tech springs drop.
About 1.5" all around. I like having negative camber.

I just put in my rear camber kit yesterday. Took me one hour for both rear wheels.
