F & R Progress Sway Bars - Where to Buy?

Where do you fellas recommend purchasing the NEW Progress bars for a 2001 EX?

I realize I need Grey's endlinks as well.

for an 01.... you already have a 25.4mm front bar. Just get the 22mm Rear, you'll like it much better then with a 27mm (I think thats what it is) that progress offers for the front.

I have an 01 and am running the RSX 19mm rear bar, with an 03s 15.9mm front.... Throttle lift oversteer is fun!

^Yes 15.9/19mm=fun, sometimes too much fun.
Just get the rear Progress combo from tornactive.com, ptuning.com, or CircaX in the groupbuy section had it for $165 or so, shipped.

Help me get this straight...

I have a 2001 EX Coupe so I should be cool on the factory front bar and could add the Progress rear bar which does not have any fitment problems like the front. I also should get a set of Grey's endlinks for the rear Progress bar.

Am I getting it right?

If the above is right, the rear Progress bar on RobearRacing's site is what I need correct?

Yes Robearracing.com has the right rear sway bar/tie bar combo. The only fitment issue might be it hitting your exhaust due to the shape of the new bar. Sometimes people have to move the exhaust a little, sometimes they don't. The 22mm Progress bar is more likely to break those crappy stock endlinks so yes you should get Grey's Endlinks. As far as the front Progress bar, it depends on how you want your car to handle. I personally would stick with your stock front swaybar and just get poly bushings

The stock front bar on the 01 is hollow, the progress front is a little bigger but, its solid, I have both front and rear and I like how it feels...

Apparently RobearRacing doesn't have the newer Progress front swaybar for the EX, only the older one with a narrower bend for the catalytic converter. Check out this post with the part# you need.

I'm just concerened with the rear right now.

Which brings up another point....is there any "disavantage" to using a new rear Progress bar with the factory EX front bar?

I don't have that setup so I can't give a good review, but realize that Neuspeed also makes a 22mm rear swaybar combo and doesn't make a bigger front swaybar to go with it. My guess: doesn't need one. You really don't want the front of a FWD car to be too stiff anyways, unless you actually want your car to Understeer of course. Why don't you just get the rear and see how you like it. If you break the back end loose and it scares you then get the front to go with it.

Thanks, that's what I figured.

Back to the other question....green (aqua) colored bar or should I look for the new gray colored one. Is thee any difference in the early aqua colored bars over the new gray ones?

I believe the newer grey ones have stops(a big washer) welded to the bar next to the bushing locations to keep it from moving left/right. Either that or they still use the moveable stops but I don't think they changed the shape or anything else on the setup.

OK..I have an 02 with the progress 22mm in the rear (it's gray by the way) At first I thought it was a little agressive for the street. There is def a tendancy to oversteer. That was on the first couple of days. Once you get used to it it doesn't seem as bad. Your driving style also dictates the amount of understeer you can make happen. By turning in quicker I can still induce understeer with this setup. By going a little wider I can swing the back end around. The only issue I have is that the car is not confidense inspiring...but I think that is due to me running stock tires for the winter. It's a great mod and one that you instantly feel the diff with. Just take it easy the first week...or find a place (like a big parking lot) where you can test the limits and not get killed. Good luck

Yea..little flanges on the bar itself. No moveable stops on the gray one. Also I have Greys endlinks and they are waaaaaaay better than the stock ones.

I bought mine from Dezod.com. He's a vendor on this site. I like giving business to our vendors since they basically fund this site. I found the cheapest price I could find..showed it to him..and he matched it (actually he beat it..since his shipping was less) I would highly highly recomend using dezod. If you have any questions just PM him..he always gets back to me within a day.

OK guys..

The ugly blue/green color bar is mainly in the older bars progress made.
All of the 2001-up Civic bars are grey. We have the rears in stock.
I have oredred the fronts , but always get sent the Si barsm which i know do not fit any Non-Si Civic.

So...basically someone has to call progress and order direct to assure they get the correct bar. Kinda sux, seems like they dont know there own part #'s
