amp install on the back seat

I want to install a FS amp on the back of the 2/3 seat in my coupe. But, the seat does not have a hard back it is just the foam and a couple of bars. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to mount the amp to the back of the seat? I was thinking of using a piece of wood and attatching it to the bars somehow then put the carpet over top it?

All you gotta do is unzip the carpet and slide a flat piece of wood that's about the same size as the back of the seat, then just screw the amp through the carpet into the wood. Works great.

Yup...slide 1/2" or 3/4" MDF underneath the metal bars, then screw the amp right into the wood.

Medium Density Fiberboard...it's what sub boxes are made of. You can get it at Home Depot or Lowes.

Should I put a nut on the screw after it goes through the wood?

all i did was shove a piece of plywood the size of the 2/3 seat under the fabric and zipped it back up. the amp has been holding there fine for over a year. another possibility would be to use zip ties to go around the bars in the seat and then through the screw holes in your amp. i used this method for my XM tuner and mounted it to the 1/3 seat and it works great.
