I searched and could not find any help. I was wondering what radar would be better to get. I am looking into getting:
Bel Vector 985
or
Rocky mountain 550
Both seem to be the top line. Does anyone know about these or have any info on radar detectors all together. I am looking into getting one to help ease my worry of police waiting for me to speed.

Rep Power: 328 The Escort 8500 is rated as "the best" radar detector out there, its $299, and the Valentine 1 is the runner up. I've never even heard of those other brands. K40 is also supposed to be good. I donno though, radar detectors are kind of a waste IMO. You gotta slow down for EVERY alarm, because cops will sit in areas that they know usually produce a false reading, so you speed since you think its false, and *Bam* they get you.

Rep Power: 0 ya if you buy anything else besides the escort 8500 or the valentine one you are wasting your money, im not gonna bother telling you which one is better because everyone sais something else, but i have the escort 8500 and it works awsome never had any problems with it and very easy to use

you're better off having someone in the passenger seat with a pair of binoculars than buying a Bel or Rocky Mountain. or, you could go out and buy a whistler or cobra...j/k. the Escorts and the V One as well as the K40 are the best out there. you might as well spend the extra $ than buy something that you are gonna throw out the window after 5 minutes of constant beeping. i've thrown a few out the window in my time and have settled on the escort 8500.
