Doesn't just the amp cost $500? and the sub cost something like 1 grand? LOL
He bought it off someone on the audi forums - that guy was too lazy to check for prices so when he sold it, he said "just throw me an offer"
on a more related topic - should I go to myer emco to get this installed or best buy??

the amp goes for about 300 on eBay, and the sub, depending on which one, titanium, aluminum, etc, can go for much less than 200. I dunno is the deal is really that good though, especially for used equipment. but, as long as you like it!

heh...I just asked my friend who took apart the sub just for kicks and he told me it had a black cone (titanium, anyone?). They guy he bought it from used it in his Audi S4 Quattro, so I think he was using some high end stuff except for the amp (it's still high end though...right???)

oh yeah, the guy was running his sub with 1000watt monster cables. he said that he didn't want to try it with the 500watt cables, so I guess i'll buy 1000watt cables too *sigh*
the number of watts a kit is rated for is meaningless, all that is important is the wire size, and youll want 4 gauge. you can get 4 gauge kits from ebay for $36 shipped, might check out wallmart, too for inexpensive wire. 4 gauge.
your woofer sounds like an 87 series eclipse, might be an older 86 series eclipse. based on teh power, id say 87. was talking to dups a few days ago, was telling him about how that's definitely my favorite eclipse woofer. you might be able to see pictures of his, to see if it is the same as yours, check members rides.
you picked a fantastic amplifier to learn your audio on, i must say, very versatile, and good about not blowing up. and even if you did get a cheapy woofer, you got the woofer and box basically for free, considering how expensive that amplifier is!
Hope you enjoy, sounds like a great start to me
