Unhappy Was rear ended I have a ?

I was rear ended this weekend.. still new only 3 months old... vic.
the damage was a hole about the size of a quarter in the middle of the rear bumper. Now all would be fine, however i have the aero kit on it from honda.. and take it off is easy but there is a seal on it.
I have not been able to find a place that sells this seal and the dealers said that it only comes with the part. My question is .. anyone who works for a dealer. can you get the seal only or do i have to get the insurance to buy a new piece since the rear bumper has to come off??
I really do not want some body shop glueing the old seal on.
Thankx in advance
John

You could most likely use 3M double-sided tape. That's what a lot of body parts are stuck on with.

Try talking to HondaWerx on aim. He might be able to either get it for you or maybe he knows someone who can.

I concur - my rear lip is stuck on with a couple of plastic rivets in the corners and the 3m tape.

The grey "molding" you see is the 3m adhesive. The body shop that fixes your car will make it all work jus right. If you are fixing it yourself just buy some 3M double sided adhesive from your local auto parts store, it will work just the same.

Another thing, the repairs should be around $300-$400, I know because Geico still owes me a check for my bumper.

if you were rear ende, and the other driver was at fault, make them buy you a new aero piece for it. if it was on the bill of sale, it is considered stock. just get a bodywork guy you know to write up an estimate that says it is unrepairable, and get a whole new bumper and aero piece. i know in my state, by law you only have to provide one quote. and the person has to go with that quote, as you have the right to select whom does the repair. not sure how it is in your state, but that's how it is here. my grandpa, whom owns an insurance agency taught me that the first time i was rear-ended in my old truck. have been using it to my advantage ever since.
