Alpine XM Tuner, Where To Put?

Hey everyone, im getting xm radio at the end of this week and im going to do the install myself since its pretty easy. I am going to put the antenna on the trunk, but I don't know where to put the tuner? The dimensions are 6-13/16"W x 1-7/16"H x 7-7/8"D. The one and only place I was thinking about was under the center console, between the shifer and the dash. Would there be enough room under the center console? If anyone has a better place to put it, let me know. Thanks!

Its basically the same size as my black box for my alpine IVA-D900 maybe a bit smaller, and i mounted it in the spare tire well. Should be plenty of room there.

Also as i recall the alpine XM box doesn't require power ground it runs off the AI-Net cable yes? so the cable SHOULD be long enough to reach from trunk to deck, but i could be wrong. After all i had to buy an extension cable for my black box!

If you really need some space, I put the brain for my IVA-D900 in the drivers side quarter panel with the supplied brackets and it bolted right to the existing braces. Outta sight, outta mind....and it's closer than the trunk.

You could always mount it under the drivers seat....

I mounted the iva-d900 box in the spare tire well because the amps and bass cube are right there, so it makes the rca cables as short as possible ( see picture below ) . BTW the nos is now hooked up with remote opener Yippeee

But back to xm radio box, the brain could be mounted like he said in the driver side rear quater pannel that way its a little closer to the deck, and the distance to the rear trunk lid isnt realy further away.
