better for me is it has to be durable after my horrible pioneer 12's blew, and i have to still hear the music, but have some deep bass when wanted.....i've heard audiobahn is overpriced, they just make their stuff look all pretty

I got 3 10" audiobahns in a bandpass box. They definately bump when needed, but it's not clear enough for me. I will be switching these subs out, when i have some money to spare. If you care a lot about the sound quality, go for the alpine's; if you just want something to bump in a parking lot, go for audiobahn

usually, audiobahns have a deeper and harder sound, where the alpines have a better overall sq sound. but 90% is still all in the install

The sony amp would be fine for his use, he would most likely notice no difference between a sony amp, a jl amp, an alpine amp, or any other brand with those models of subs.

why not get two kicker comp vr 12's off ebay for around 170 shipped and throw them in a ported box tuned to 32hz... that will get loud as hell and still sound good doing it.
