Ok ... got off of work and my friend and I were driving to go get boba... we were passing by an Albertsons and I was talkin to him about something when he says "OH MY GAWD!!" .. at that point I was thinkin ... what is he talkin about?
Then I look to my right only to see a shopping car about 2 feet anyway, rolling on the street, in my front of my car ... needless to say, I hit that **** at about 45 mph ...
So yeah ... my bumper is cracked in half, my hood has a huge dent in it about the size of an open hand ... my a/c grille is bent ... my upper grille is falling off ...
very interestingly enough, my turbo, intercooler, intercooler piping, etc remain nicefully intact and undamaged *whew* ...
I went into Albertsons and reported it ... manager called me today and said he was gonna call his insurance ...
ok, so here's the question ... WTF DO I DO?? ...
... what if their insurance doesn't pay??

if their insurance does not cover it for whatever reason, go and kick the strikers ***, cuz it was probably them, j/p. for reals though, tell your insurance, and they should cover it without it hurting your premium...or at least thats what happened to one of my friends.

That blows. I'd try to work with Alberstons.
I wonder what your friends will say...
"WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR CAR!!!!?"
"uh.... I hit a shopping cart doing 45mph..."

hey that happened to my mom.. we were at an albertsons in vegas, where im from when some chick hit the shopping cart into her car. we told the store manager, and they reviewed the tapes and sure enough we were right. albertsons gave us the money to fix the car and we never had to go to the insurance company. before you report it try calling the store where it happened and see what they say. might be a nice way to save you some money if your insurance makes you pay the deductable.

I have polaroids ... but I don't have a scanner ... =\
well ... my insurance company has a $1000 deductible ... however, with $1000, I can just get an oem bumper, ac grille, cf hood and maybe a lip for cheaper ...

Wait...how can you be driving and talking to your friend at the same time while hot paying attention to what's going on around you!?! What a dangerous driver.
Albertson's better cover for the damages afterall it's their shopping cart. Are those guys still on strike? Maybe that's why the cart was not collected.

i'm gonna be honest with you....
they're not gonna cover the damages... supermarkets are not liable for damages outside of their parking lot and they aren't liable for damages inflicted by other customers even though it was their shopping cart....
they're gonna give you all this BS about that and get to the point where you're gonna have to decide to sue them... they might give in then but other than that, they're gonna do everything in their power to convince you that it isn't their fault.....
if the manager is nice a doesn't care about his companies money especially with the strike going on, then i don't think it'll be a big of a hassle as i make it seem... but still.. hold your nose...

on sunset blvd down by the beach in pacific palisades, there is this one hairpin turn, which is more or less a blind corner. i saw a shopping cart on the curb one day, but didnt think anything of it.
but a few days later, i was cruising in the left lane, bout 45, this 996 comes up in the right lane, real fast and hits the cart in the middle of his lane. those palisades kids are real troublemakers, i guarantee it was one of them.
