WTF is a straight header? You mean no exhaust system. Just let the gasses exit the engine and into the air?

straight header meaning that you take off the exhaust and just run your car from the downpipe no cat or exhaust, I can't believe no one has ever heard of this, people do it all the time at the track, even some of my friends.

You can do it with any car. However, the car isnt as powerful as with a exhaust. You have no backpressure which will not give you as good of performance as a exhaust would. I dont think its a great idea for straight header and n2o. You run the risk of cracking the block or the header by running straight header. Its up to you though.

why would you want more backpressure when there will be more fumes comming out especially running nitrous? I think taking it off would help

er. for our car... with that shot..

if you mean straight header as in just exhaust manifold (aka header) and no downpipe... no cat convertor.. no cat-back.. then I guess it may be okay.

but I recommend, in fact, its only sensible to have straight pipes done right after the header and have the exhaust vent at another location.. its going to be really really really loud... and its going to smell a hell lot...

as for gains.. *shrug* definitely help in a FI setup, but nitrous? someone will probably tell you.

All's Im saying is taking off the exhaust from the catalytic converter to the back off and leaving everything else on, that is straight header!!! I know its loud, anyone who does it is loud but I want to know about gains becuase it has a shorter time of leaving the motor than with my ful cat back exhaust. and Nitrous

well if you're just removing the cat-back then its fine... the cat-convertor will still be there and its not really about leaving the motor faster but just less restriction during the flow.

the gains are still up for grabs... you'll lose torque but it doesn't matter that much if you know how to launch properly and compensate for it.. plus u're running 75shot... although I wouldn't run 75shot on a stock motor.. there's a few guys doing that.

if you want to remove the cat, since our downpipe is part of the cat convertor.. thats why I suggest an extension pipe done after the header. cuz it'll be just too short with the header only, and that brings problem with you fully smelling and intaking the exhaust from the engine bay.

ohh ok thanks, I didnt know that the downpipe was all one piece with the cat to , But I'm thinking about just getting a straight pipe made and buying and 02 simulator instead !
