Magnaflow cat-back clamp ? air leaks
I just installed a new magnaflow cat-back on my 02 lx manual. It looks and fits really nice. the problem is that the second U-clamp from the front that connects the pipes leaks air . I have re-tightened it twice and it still leaks (pushed the pipe all the way in). Is there anything I can do to stop the air from leaking, besides welding? I dont think I want to weld it.
Also, I had to cut the bumper a bit by the exhaust tip, I think I have to do it again, because in idle it still rattles against the bumper....anyone have any pointers?
I always appreciate the advice.

the clamp is supposed to be so tight that it actually crimps the pipe, tq that monkey down as best you can,... an impact wrench really should be used. (welding is best).
My tip sits on the bumper too, but it is so tight that is does not rattle, and heat isnt a prob as the tip is double walled. You have a few choices here:
1. cut the bumper which looks trick and custom
2. heat the hangers and drop the muffler lower (ground clearance and issue?)
3. bend the hangers moving the muffler higher, so its against the bumper with force. (in my case, it was already up this high, so i did nothing.
I am thinking of cutting off the 'fancy tip' and just using some ugly stock looking tip, to attract less attention, but thats just me
