Does 03 center console fit 01 and 02?

Ok. I have already searched the threads and could not find my answer. I saw threads on swapping the 02 in a 01. But not an 03. Heres the deal, was gonna drop of my console to get a mold made and start making Carbon Fiber and Fiberglass consoles. But I want to make sure all of the consoles were interchangable before I do it, I dont want to make the consoles and them just fit in the 03. Will the 03 console fit in the 01 and 02?

Center console will fit.
03

02

Looks like you will need many little parts but i think 03 center console looks nice. You will have to get 03 arm rest too.

Sounds like another good candidate for a DIY for the DX site. If someone will write it up and take lots of pics, I'll convert to pdf and post it on the site.

I got some more bad news today, my mold man said it would be impossible to make a mold from the console dur to the cupholders, I f i do the console, it will have to be one solid piece, and we would lose the cup holders, there would be no cover, it would be a solid piece. What do you think I should do? Would you guys still be interested in it?

If you put an 03 console in you would have to take off the 02 armrest. This would leave a hole in the fabric am I right?

uh huh. that is correct. The ebrake is a bit more crooked and shorter than the ones on the 01 & 02 models. Plus they moved it up a little bit to accomodate that hideous built-in arm rest.

that second pic is a member's car that was at the 2003 Mid-atlantic meet. I didn't catch his name, so I apologize for not give props.

**Look he did a manual shiftboot conversion to his automatic too! IMO it looks nicer than that PRND32 shifter surround panel. And no we're not trying to "fake people out"

www.HondaAutomotiveParts.com

When you're sure about the swap, go there to find and order every piece you need from the diagrams in the previous page.

I would search around for a junk yard first that has a wrecked civic. If you're lucky you might find one that hasn't been stripped to the bone. Just buy the console to test fit it, then you can order the new parts or not.

You can probably just bypass this testing crap, by ordering a 2002 ebrake handle along with the 2002 console and all the other parts.

So has anyone found out if u can swap out the heavy *** armrest for a 02 01 style like in the pic above?
The 03 armrest weighs 25 pounds or so maybe more should have weighed it!

Also what about the ebreak Its diffeernet on the 01 02 so we would need to swap that to right....
