I replaced mine with an alpine unit a few months ago. Afterwards, a few things weren't working, like power doorlocks, my trip a/b odometers reset every time, and some other electrical things. Did you check all of the fuses? I first checked my fuses that dealt directly with the things that were wrong. But the fuse that I found to be blown wasn't what I expected. A blown fuse almost anywhere can affect the rest. A short in the branching fuse system at one point just messes up other things in that network of fuses.

So if you didn't check all of the fuses, go through and pull out each one and check them all.

Make sure that you did not hit any other wires when installing the play.. i would take it out and check to see if you sliced through a wire unexpectidly because there are some vital wires that run to the ac and steering wheel behind the main dash..

If I were you, I would ask one of the technicians at Honda. Just explain your problem to him and ask him what he thinks the problem could possibly be. The mechanic at my dealer tells what he thinks could be wrong. Then I go check it out myself. Normally he's right. And it doesn't cost anything to get advice.

its definately a blown fuse, and if it keeps blowing, something is grounding out. retrace your steps and dont panic.

I put a deck in my 03 civic and nothing happened...works perfectly fine... just take the harness off and reconnect them again.. with butt connectors or whatever method you did to connect the aftermarket cd player harness and the harness that goes to ur stock harness... maybe that'll undo any loose wires...

Hey buddy, a fuse can only blow once. And if a fuse did blow, then that doesnt been your system is grounded out. These are 2 opposite situations. A Blown fuse is an open and a ground out is a short.

If a fuse did blow out, then you have too much current flowing through your circuitry. Fuses are designed to protect your electronics by burning out when too much current is present. So, if you replace your fuse it'll just burn out again. If you replace it with a higher amp rating, you run the risk of farking up your whole electrical system.

Of course do not rule out the possibility that some wires are shorted or are grounding out. If you have any piece of exposed wires touching anthing metal, you just need to tape 'em up with electrical tape.

Something caused a surge of current to run through your electronics and blow out your fuse. It is possible for it to happen again. A new fuse might just be a temporary fix. I'm not saying it will happen, it just could.

Doesn't that help your job security?

Generally you can tell when someone has already removed something and returned it back to stock. Right?

When I worked at a bike shop, people would come in with some messed up shiite and say, I was "Just Riding Along". We called them the JRA's. I bet people come in with stuff you know they messed up and say they were "Just Driving Along".
